Well done, Jane!

Warm congratulations to Jane Besong-Ndika for successfully defending her PhD thesis on June 14th 2016!

The stage for Jane's doctoral defense was set on Monday June 13th with a preliminary minisymposium on functionalized nanoparticles. In addition to Jane's opponent, professor Christina Wege form the university of Stuttgart, we had the opportunity to follow interesting presentations by professor Mauri Kostiainen, Dr. Thierry Michon, Dr. Vesa Hytönen and Jane herself. The theme of the day was to explore interesting biotechnological applications of viruses and virus-like particles.

On Tuesday Jane and professor Wege were in the spotlight, discussing Jane's studies of PVA encapsidation and of the usability of PVA particles as nanocarriers for enzymes. Jane did very well in defending her work and convinced both her opponent and the audience of her knowledge and skills as a researcher.
